With dual enrollment, you can start college while you’re still in high school

Hi, my name is Adrianna.

I started going to college when I was 14, earning two degrees by 18. Now, I help other students with their early college journeys!

In 2015, I started high school and college simultaneously through Ohio's "College Credit Plus" program. Dual enrollment allowed me to replace almost all my high school classes with college-level courses—accelerating my education and reshaping my view of learning.

By 16, graduated with an Associate of Arts degree, and at 18, I achieved a double milestone: earning both a Bachelor’s degree and my high school diploma within weeks of each other.

Now, nearly five years post-graduation, I'm eager to share the secrets of this "life hack" that can set your child on an accelerated, debt-free path to success.

I’m on a mission to create + curate the content, resources, and support I wish I had access to back when I started my early college journey almost a decade ago— and I’m eager to “build in public” as I put together this hub for dual enrollment.

  • Dual enrollment is a program that allows high school students to enroll in college courses and earn college credits while they are still completing their high school education. This means that students have the opportunity to simultaneously work towards their high school diploma and accumulate credits for a college degree.

  • Dual enrollment programs can give students a head start on their college education, reduce the time and cost to complete a college degree, and offer a more engaging and rewarding academic experience during high school.

Research suggests that dual enrollment can lead to higher rates of college enrollment, college GPA, credit accumulation, and even higher workforce earnings.
